Our Venture into The Podcasting World

Marketing, Online Strategies, Strategic Marketing Planning

Quiz time: What do Astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson, retired professional wrestler Stone Cold Steve Austin and Snooki from The Jersey Shore have in common? Answer: They all have their own podcasts.

In 2006, if you asked someone “What’s your favorite podcast?”, most people’s response would be “My favorite what?”. That’s because only 22% of Americans even knew what a podcast was. Nowadays, podcasts are everywhere and it seems like everyone and their mother has one. In fact, in 2019, there were 750,000 active podcasts to choose from and that measly 22% from 2006 has jumped up to 70% or 197 million Americans.

There is no lack of subjects either: Food, Sports, Video Games, Politics, Business, Music, True Crime. You name it, there’s probably a podcast about it. And yes, you read that correctly… Crime. Go ahead, take your pick from hundreds and hundreds of True Crime podcasts. What can we say? People are into some strange stuff.

Now you can officially add Local Healthcare to that subject list. In collaboration with DARCI Creative, York Hospital launched their official podcast titled Seatown (which we named and branded). Hosted by Erich Fogg, PA-C MMSc. and Kathryn Ford, Seatown was intended to keep listeners updated on hospital happenings and medical topics ranging from new technologies, services and facilities to guest interviews and upcoming community events.

Season one of Seatown is available now on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, and Youtube. There are ten binge-worthy episodes out right now including a special bonus episode covering everything Covid-19 which we recorded through a Zoom video meeting. Other episodes cover everything from health insurance, addiction, dining services at York Hospital, and much much more.

With the new addition of our very own podcast equipment here at DARCI Creative, we’re able to bring the studio right to you. No need to rent studio time or cast voice actors. Your voice, your place, and some high-quality podcast goodness.

Are you interested in launching a podcast for your brand? Contact us today to learn more about our podcasting services. Learn more about Seatown here: https://www.yorkhospital.com/seatown-podcast/
